Alisha Wolf "Camp Mom" - Owner & Operator

Camp Mom is the founder and owner of Wolf Manor Equestrian Centre. Originally from Nova Scotia, she moved to Prince Edward Island with her family when she was twelve. The loving, dedicated mother of 4 has had a deep love of horses her whole life.

Camp Mom started taking riding lessons in the winter of 2009 and was finally able to buy her own horse in April of 2010.

Camp Mom and her daughters, Candy and Baby-Blue, enjoyed riding together at their farm in Brackley.  In 2011 Camp Mom had to rehome her horses due to a personal challenge.  A few years later, Camp Mom was in the position to look for a new horse.  Camp Mom always wanted an Off the Track Thoroughbred.  She finally found the ad for her newest horse Amadeus.  Amadeus arrived in the Winter of 2013, and Camp Mom’s renewed horsemanship journey commenced. Always a firm believer that anyone can learn anything at any time if they’re willing to be a beginner, Camp Mom is proof that this sentiment is true.

Camp Mom has ridden under the direction of some very high-level trainers and coaches, over the years, at multiple clinics, as well as flying to Australia to fence-sit a Warwick Schiller clinic in 2014. Camp Mom travelled throughout the USA and Canada with her training partner, Sharene Smith, and held Horsemanship clinics at various equine facilities in 2016.

Camp Mom started planning for summer camp in 2017, which opened the doors for the Horsemanship Empowerment program at Wolf Manor Equestrian Centre.  Her vision is to empower children and families of PEI by providing a safe and inviting environment where they can have hands-on interaction with horses.

"Candy" - Co-Owner/Assistant Manager & Counselor
Candy is the oldest of the two daughters of Camp Mom. She was born a healthy, happy baby on July 3rd, 2002. When she was six, she began riding horses. This sparked her love for not only horses but all animals too. After a few short years of riding lesson ponies, she got the best present a girl could ever ask for; a horse. Candy and her pony, Dutchess, have gone through everything together. Now, Candy has “graduated” from Dutchess, but Dutchie is still at Wolf Manor, working with many kids who are new riders. In 2012, she had her whole world change; at 10 years old, she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. She was lucky enough to catch it very early on, never became sick, and did not need to take insulin until 4 months after her diagnosis. Although this was a hard change in her life, she had her family support her through this process, and it did not stop her from living life to the fullest. Unfortunately, shortly after, Candy had an accident. She fell off a horse she was riding in her lesson, lost three permanent teeth, and broke her right arm. She was very nervous for quite some time afterward, but with her mom's help, she was able to get back on the same horse with her broken arm.  It seemed like she was running into obstacle after obstacle, but little did she know she would dislocate her left arm two years later. After her many ups and downs throughout her life, she has stayed positive and has had a very positive outlook on life. She is currently in her 1st year of university. Candy enjoys not only horses but also flute and rugby. She continues to ride horses competitively and hopes that she can teach people that even when it feels like the universe is against you, things can always turn around.

"Baby-Blue" - Counselor & Media Consultant

Baby-Blue is one of two daughters of Camp Mom.  She was born a happy, healthy baby on February 14th, 2004.  Baby-Blue had a large imagination and an interest in many things like babies, animals, dolls, and crafts at a very young age.  But soon after her sister, Candy, started riding, she found out she loved horses as well.  Baby-Blue started horse-back riding at the age of 5 and enjoyed every moment of it.  Two years after she started riding, her sister experienced a riding accident, breaking her arm and losing 3 permanent teeth. After the accident, Candy continued to ride, but Baby-Blue was not ready to go back to riding.  As she grew up, she showed interest in many other activities such as ballet, piano, gymnastics, swimming, and soccer, but still never showed interest in riding again.  After realizing she was a fast runner and a strong athlete on the field, Baby-Blue played many years of soccer, and almost immediately, she knew it was what made her happy the most. It had become her new passion.  Every summer, she would play many soccer games and support her sister by attending her horse shows.  In the summer of 2018, Baby-Blue realized that she missed riding.  She began riding again in August 2018 and is now still interested in both horseback riding and soccer.  She has realized that she is happiest when running with a ball down the field and in the ring on a horse. She is also interested in trying new sports such as rugby and flag football to add to her passion for sports.  To this day, she continues to try her hardest with both riding and soccer.
